Yes, You. It’s You I’m talking to.

Everyone says how great You are,

And what an outstanding job You’ve done.

Everyone but me, that is.

Well, there’s always one, isn’t there?

A couple of questions I’d like to ask.

First up…Could You please explain

Why You created us.

I don’t want to be a pain,

Disrespectful or unkind.

But frankly I don’t get it.

What on earth – or off it – did You have in mind?

Second up…I know I’m insignificant.

But is there any point at all to me?

And if there is, do tell.

What am I supposed to be?

What am I here to do?

I wish to hell I knew.

All I know is – we are born, we live, we die.
