Who needs diets!

Chocolate Cake – a Cautionary Tale
And now for desert,
For goodness’ sake,
There’s – yes, you guessed it –
Chocolate cake!
Chocolate cake and vanilla ice.
Yum yum, yummy! That sounds nice!
But then in my head
The arguments start.
Have a sorbet instead,
Cake’s bad for your heart.
But I’m thin as a rake!
And I don’t give a fig!
So why can’t I eat cake?
Thin! You’re not thin!
You’re fat as a pig!
And being fat is a sin.
Everybody knows that.
So, do I?
Don’t I?
Will I?
Won’t I?
Make the ultimate mistake,
And eat the forbidden chocolate cake?
Yes, I will!
No, you won’t!
Yes, I will!
No, you won’t!
Alright! Alright!
My trousers are tight!
I’m putting on weight.
I’ll ask for the bill
Before it’s too late.
No, I won’t!
I’m going to order the chocolate cake!
Big mistake! Huge mistake!
You must stick to your diet!
I will not! I want cake!
But they bake it in fat!
I don’t care if they fry it!
I know what I’m at,
And I’m going to try it.
But then…
Oh, shit!
Shit!
Shit!
Shit!
They just sold
The last bit!
That very same night
I’m having this dream…
Chocolate Cake and vanilla ice cream!
And though sure as hell I shall live to regret it,
In that fabulous dream…
That’s right…
I ate it.
