Drinking a glass of wine or two,

Or possibly three,

Thinking about life,

My hopes and fears,

When I hit the target,

When I missed.

Maybe you could help me, God.

That is, if You exist.

Just joking, God. Of course You do.

We could have a chat,

Me and You.

I’d ask about this and that.

You could tell me what life’s for,

What the future has in store,

Whether things get better or worse.

You might even explain the universe!

We could have a laugh,

Shed a tear or two.

I’ve plenty of those to spare.

Hello, God! Are You up there?
