The Willow Tree

The willow in my garden

Celebrating spring, waves

Its billowing curtain

Over my doggies graves.

Whispering to them gently

Springtime’s joyful news –

Dear friends, the winter’s over!

Wake up! No time to lose!

Listen to me, doggies

It’s time to run and play!

What’s the point of sleeping

Day after day after day?

I wake up every springtime

Though I sleep the winter through

Tell me little doggies,

Why can’t you?
