There we are, lad,

Time’s up, that’s it.

You’ve had your ration,

Done your bit.

Had a great life, have you?

Excellent! Good to know.

Must be such a comfort

Now it’s time to go.

You didn’t expect it?

Can’t believe it’s true?

Tough on the wife?

On the kids too?

Could it be cancelled?

Or maybe delayed?

Not for me to say, mate.

That’s life, I’m afraid.

Terrible shock, is it?

Doesn’t seem real?

Nobody warned you?
